The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAt)
All students in grades 2, 5, 8 will be given the CogAt. The reasons for giving the test are to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual students, to identify strengths and weaknesses of groups of students, to monitor year-to-year developmental changes, and to provide feedback to students and parents.
The CogAt will be administered in the fifth grade classrooms during our Language Arts or Reading times during the week of October 1st - 5th. You will receive written information regarding the test results by the end of November.
If you have any questions regarding the CogAt, or if your child has to be gone during any of the testing, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
Sincerely,
The 5th Grade Teachers
